Gwangju:The Kia Tigers and LG Twins, who together have claimed the last three South Korean baseball championships, are set to renew their postseason rivalry this weekend. Their first Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason encounter in a decade will commence with the opening game of their best-of-five semi-final series at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field, located approximately 270 kilometers south of Seoul.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Twins are entering the series as the defending Korean Series champions, having secured the title in 2023. They aim to become the first team since the Doosan Bears in 2015-2016 to win consecutive Korean Series titles.
The Kia Tigers, who were the Korean Series champions in 2024, are looking to make a strong comeback after missing the postseason in 2025.
