SEOUL - Video game developer Krafton Inc. reported a decrease in its third-quarter net income, registering a 6.5 percent drop to 211.6 billion won (US$161.8 million) compared to the same period last year. Despite this decline, the company's regulatory filing revealed that its operating profit for the July-September period rose by 30.9 percent year-on-year to 189.3 billion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Sales also increased modestly by 3.8 percent, totaling 450.3 billion won. Notably, Krafton's earnings surpassed market expectations, with the average net profit estimate by analysts standing at 125.4 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
