Nominee for South Korea’s New Space Agency Pledges to Boost National Space Competitiveness

SACHEON — Yoon Young-bin, the nominee to lead South Korea's newly established Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA), vowed on Thursday to advance the nation's position in the global space sector.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Speaking at his first press conference since his nomination, Yoon emphasized the importance of developing key domestic companies for global-level achievements in space. Slated to officially start on May 27, KASA aims to spearhead South Korea's space and aeronautical ventures, including lunar and Martian explorations. Yoon cited the country's recent successes and future ambitions in satellite and rocket technologies as foundational to these goals.
