Over 10,000 Vehicles Recalled by Mercedes-Benz Korea and Others Due to Faulty Parts

SEOUL — Mercedes-Benz Korea, along with three other automotive companies, is set to recall over 10,000 vehicles due to defective components, as announced by the transportation ministry on Wednesday. The recall, which is voluntary, affects a total of 10,981 units across 20 different models from companies including BMW Group Korea, Volkswagen Group Korea, and Jeis Mobility, a domestic manufacturer of electrified vans.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Mercedes-Benz Korea is recalling the largest number of vehicles, with a total of 9,528 units across 14 models, including the E 250 sedan. The recall is being issued due to a potential engine shutdown risk stemming from a faulty fuel pump component. BMW Group Korea is set to recall 141 units of two motorcycle models due to issues with the brightness of lights for daytime driving. Volkswagen Group Korea is addressing defective batteries in 73 units of two Audi models, including the e-tron GT.

Jeis Mobility is also participating in the recall, with 910 units of its ET Van model being recalled to address safety standard compliance issues concerning the lower part of the vehicle.
