President Yoon Engages with Sanitation Workers Over Lunar New Year Breakfast

SEOUL - President Yoon Suk Yeol met with sanitation workers from Dongjak Ward in southern Seoul on Friday, sharing a breakfast of "tteokguk," a traditional rice cake soup commonly consumed during the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting aimed to express gratitude for their dedication and to discuss their working conditions. Yoon emphasized the importance of their safety, acknowledging their early morning efforts, even on holidays. He quoted, "The most important thing in the new year is your safety. You are devoting yourselves to society and your 'devotion' should never become a 'sacrifice' due to safety accidents." The President tasked Environment Minister Han Wha-jin and Dongjak Ward office chief Park Il-ha, who were present at the meeting, with ensuring the safety of sanitation workers and affirmed his commitment to incorporating their feedback into policy considerations.
