SEOUL: "Gangnam Style," the hit song by South Korean singer-rapper Psy, has achieved another remarkable milestone, demonstrating its enduring popularity. Released in 2012, the song continues to captivate audiences globally, more than a decade after its debut.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The music video for "Gangnam Style" has now exceeded 5 billion views on YouTube. This track, the main song from Psy's sixth full-length album, gained worldwide acclaim for its humorous video and Psy's iconic horse dance. Notably, "Gangnam Style" propelled Psy to international fame, making him the first K-pop act to secure the No. 2 spot on Billboard's Hot 100 main singles chart, where he remained for seven weeks.

The song's music video was a trailblazer on YouTube, being the first to exceed the platform's view limit, reaching 2 billion views in May 2014. This unprecedented viewership prompted YouTube to upgrade its counter system. The video's popularity continued to soar, surpassing 3 billion views in November 2017 and 4 billion in March 2021.
