Samsung Group Affiliates to Boost CSR Efforts in Seoul

SEOUL - Samsung Group's affiliates, Cheil Worldwide Inc. and S-1 Corp., have announced the launch of new corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects in Seoul. These initiatives are aimed at increasing the conglomerate's contribution to social welfare and community support.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Cheil Worldwide, Samsung's advertising branch, plans to start a sports class and psychological consultation sessions for 300 teenagers from multicultural families annually, beginning in March 2024. This initiative is designed to provide both physical and mental support to the youth in these communities.

S-1 Corp., known for its security solutions, will focus on providing digital education to senior citizens. This effort aims to assist older adults in navigating modern technology, such as smartphones and kiosks, enhancing their digital literacy. Additionally, S-1 will offer job opportunities for the elderly in both private and public sectors.

Samsung currently runs various CSR activities, including a software academy for young people, a volunteer education program after school, and housing support for institution-reared teenagers. These new projects represent an expansion of Samsung's ongoing commitment to social responsibility.
