Seoul Police Raid Online Platform Chief’s Home and Office

SEOUL — Authorities conducted raids on the residence and workplace of the head of an online medical community platform, Medistaff, in connection to an alleged blacklisting of trainee doctors abstaining from a nationwide walkout.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Tuesday's operation aimed to gather evidence against the platform’s chief, identified only by the surname Ki, amidst allegations of promoting a divisive online post. This move follows previous searches at the company’s main offices earlier in the month. The contentious post in question listed names and personal details of trainee doctors not participating in the protest, labeling them derogatorily. Additionally, Medistaff faces scrutiny over claims that it may have urged trainee doctors to erase medical records before joining the strike. This comes as a significant number of the country's trainee doctors continue their month-long strike against proposed increases in medical school admissions.
