South Korea Pledges $2 Million in Humanitarian Aid to Israel-Hamas Conflict Victims

SEOUL — South Korea announced on Thursday its commitment to provide US$2 million in humanitarian aid to support civilian victims of the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas, according to the foreign ministry.

The information was reported by Yonhap News Agency. The foreign ministry stated that the aid would be disbursed through international organizations and that the government would ensure transparent use of the resources strictly for humanitarian purposes. Since the conflict began with a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, it has resulted in more than 4,800 casualties: approximately 1,400 from Israel and 3,400 from Palestine.
