South Korean Presidential Office Demands Full Investigation into Lawmaker’s Assault

The South Korean presidential office has called for a comprehensive investigation into the recent assault on People Power Party lawmaker Rep. Bae Hyun-jin. This statement was issued following the incident in Seoul, which left Bae with a head injury. According to the presidential office's statement, the incident, described as a case of "shocking terror," should be thoroughly investigated to ensure such events do not recur.

According Yonhap News Agency, Bae was attacked in the Gangnam district of Seoul and was subsequently admitted to Soonchunhyang University Hospital with head injuries. Despite the trauma, she remained conscious, and her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The suspect, a male who claimed to be 15 years old, was temporarily detained by the police in Gangnam.
