South Korea’s Major Cities Brace for Sleet and Rain, Sunday Weather Forecast Reveals

SEOUL — South Koreans across 12 major cities woke up to a chilly Sunday morning, with the weather forecast indicating a mix of sleet and rain throughout the day. The forecast, issued at 9:01 a.m., predicts varied weather conditions across the country, affecting millions of residents.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Seoul, Incheon, Suwon, Cheongju, and Daejeon are expected to experience sleet with temperatures ranging from a high of 7°C to a low of -1°C. The possibility of precipitation in these cities varies from 20% to 30%. Particularly, Seoul and Suwon are bracing for a 30% chance of sleet, with temperatures hovering around 7°C for the high and 1°C for the low.

Chuncheon is forecasted to witness snow, standing out with a 40% chance of precipitation and temperatures peaking at 8°C and dipping to -1°C. Meanwhile, Gangneung, along with Jeonju and Daegu, anticipates sleet with a 30% likelihood of rain, and temperatures in these regions are expected to remain similar to those in the capital and its surrounding areas.

The southern cities of Gwangju, Jeju, and Busan are set for a wetter day, with rain forecasted across these regions. Jeju faces a 60% chance of rain, the highest among the listed cities, with temperatures ranging from a warm 9°C to 8°C. Gwangju and Busan are also preparing for a 30% chance of rain, with Busan expecting the day's highest temperature at 11°C.

As South Korea transitions into colder weather, residents in these cities are advised to prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility due to the expected sleet and snow. The weather conditions are likely to impact outdoor activities, urging people to stay informed about the latest weather updates and plan their day accordingly.
