South Korea’s NIS Collaborates with U.S. CISA to Enhance Cybersecurity

Seoul - The National Intelligence Service (NIS) of South Korea has forged a significant partnership with the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to bolster bilateral cybersecurity cooperation. Announced on Friday, the agreement involves a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the two agencies.

According to Yonhap news Agency, the MOU will facilitate joint cyber training, information sharing about cyber threats, and collaborative efforts to protect critical infrastructure.

The agreement also includes the development of policies and guidelines related to cybersecurity and the exploration of new cybersecurity technologies. This collaboration is a direct outcome of the Seoul-Washington summit held in April, where South Korea and the United States agreed to establish a Strategic Cybersecurity Cooperation Framework. The MOU symbolizes a concerted effort by both nations to enhance their defenses against cyber adversaries and safeguard their digital infrastructure.
