Tech and Industrial Sectors Propel KOSPI 200 to Notable Gains

SEOUL – The KOSPI 200 index witnessed another day of noteworthy advances, propelled by significant gains across the tech and industrial sectors.

According to Yonhap News Agency, SK Innovation experienced a substantial rise, gaining 18,400 points, indicating strong investor interest in the energy and chemical industry. LG CHEM also enjoyed an uptick of 50,000 points, further showcasing the market’s positive sentiment towards the chemical sector.

Tech giants such as Kakao and KakaoBank likewise saw increases of 3,400 and 3,500 points, respectively, signaling sustained growth in the IT sector. In infrastructure, HD Hyundai Infracore advanced by 580 points, reflecting optimism in construction and engineering services.

Samsung’s diverse portfolio companies, including SAMSUNG C&T and SAMSUNG CARD, experienced gains, with the construction and trade company SAMSUNG C&T rising by 2,600 points, while SAMSUNG CARD climbed by 550 points.

The financial sector was not left behind, with Woori Financial Group and Shinhan Group both closing higher, pointing to a healthy banking industry.

While most companies on the KOSPI 200 list saw their stock prices increase, SAMSUNG LIFE bucked the trend with a minor drop of 900 points. However, this did not overshadow the overall positive performance of the index on this trading day.
