Seoul – Yonhap News Agency has urged the Korea Communications Commission (KCC) to block the Eulji Education Foundation's attempt to take control of Yonhap News TV, its 24-hour cable news channel affiliate.
According to Yonhap News Agency, it submitted a written opinion to the KCC on Wednesday, a week after the Eulji Education Foundation filed a request to be recognized as the largest shareholder of Yonhap News TV. Yonhap has cited "grave disqualifications" on the part of the education foundation in its bid to take over the news channel.
