BTS Members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook to Begin Military Service in South Korea

SEOUL - Members of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, are set to commence their mandatory military service this week in South Korea. Their enlistment follows that of their fellow bandmates Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, who are currently fulfilling their military duties.

According to Yonhap News Agency, RM and V are scheduled to join the Army on Monday, with Jimin and Jungkook enlisting the following day. The group, known for their international fame and significant cultural impact, will see all its members serve in the military, as is required for all able-bodied men in South Korea.

RM shared his thoughts on the enlistment with fans on Weverse, a K-pop fan community platform, expressing both trepidation and hope for the new chapter in his life. "I was really happy to live as a BTS member over the past 10 years. As the end is another beginning, I believe that something good will wait for us when this is all over," he said. Acknowledging his fears, RM also conveyed his desire to learn and gain inspiration from this experience.

V, known for his distinctive style and charisma, shared a photo on Instagram sporting a shaved head, a look he had wanted to try. "Shaved head with sunglasses... I wanted to try it someday. Good for me," he captioned.

The four BTS members are expected to complete their military service and be discharged in June 2025. During this period, the band will take a hiatus from their group activities, marking a significant moment for both the members and their global fan base, known as ARMY.
