KBO’s Kiwoom Heroes and MLB’s Arizona Diamondbacks Establish Strategic Partnership
SEOUL — The Kiwoom Heroes, representing the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), have officially sealed a strategic partnership with Major League Baseball’s Arizona Diamondbacks. This announcement was made following a signing ceremony that took place at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Arizona, where both teams are conducting their spring training camps.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement was initially reached in August last year, but formal signing was delayed until this week when Heroes General Manager Ko Hyung-wook and Diamondbacks CEO Derrick Hall were able to meet.
Despite the postponement of the official signing ceremony initially scheduled for September 8 due to other commitments, the partnership had already been active, with collaborative exchange programs between the two clubs. Notably, personnel from the Diamondbacks’ research and development department had joined Heroes scouts for KBO games last August, and members of the Heroes’ coaching staff participated in the Diamondbacks’ training camp in January.
“We’d like to thank the Diamondbacks for this great opportunity,” Ko expressed, emphasizing the mutual benefits anticipated from this partnership. “I hope this partnership will help lay the foundation for success for both clubs.”
