Momoland to be 1st K-pop act to appear on terrestrial TV in Mexico

The girl group Momoland seeks to penetrate the Latin American market.

The K-pop act’s management agency MLD Entertainment on Feb. 8 said the group will appear this month on the Mexican reality dance competition show “Todos a Bailar” (Let’s Dance Together).

Yonhap News of Korea said Momoland will be the first K-pop act to appear on a TV show in Mexico aired by a terrestrial broadcaster.

The group will appear in the show’s final round to perform its new English-language song “Yummy Yummy Love.”

Momoland is slated to hold promotions in the Mexican capital of Mexico City as well as other major cities like Guadalajara and Monterrey. This is the group’s second trip to Latin America since 2019, when it appeared on Mexico’s top music channel Telehit.

The music video for “Yummy Yummy Love” was released on Jan. 14 and attracted 30 million views within three weeks. The song has drawn attention for its collaboration with Natti Natasha, a globally famous Dominican singer and songwriter of Latin music.
