President Yoon Appoints Former Seoul High Prosecutors Office Chief as Justice Minister

SEOUL: President Yoon Suk Yeol has nominated Park Sung-jae, the former chief of the Seoul High Prosecutors Office, as the new justice minister, as revealed by sources on Monday. This appointment follows the departure of the previous Justice Minister, Han Dong-hoon.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Park Sung-jae's nomination comes approximately a month after Han Dong-hoon left his position as Justice Minister to become the interim head of the ruling People Power Party, ahead of the general elections scheduled for April. Park, a Korea University law graduate, has held several prominent roles in the prosecution service. His experience includes leading positions at both the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office and the Seoul High Prosecutors Office, underscoring his extensive background in the judicial system.
