SEOUL — President Yoon Suk Yeol recorded a New Year's interview with Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) on Sunday.

According to Yonhap News Agency, amid growing public interest in his response to allegations involving his wife and a luxury handbag gift in 2022. The interview, conducted at the presidential office in Seoul, is set to broadcast on KBS on Wednesday, just ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

The focus is on President Yoon's forthcoming comments regarding claims that first lady Kim Keon Hee accepted a Christian Dior handbag from a pastor in 2022, a controversy that has the potential to impact the ruling party's standing in the parliamentary elections scheduled for April.
