President Yoon Suk Yeol’s Approval Rating Sees Marginal Increase

SEOUL — In a recent public opinion survey, President Yoon Suk Yeol's approval rating has experienced a slight uptick.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Gallup Korea, the approval rating for President Yoon has increased by 1 percentage point, reaching 34 percent. This rise is largely attributed to his diplomatic efforts as per the respondents of the survey, which involved 1,000 individuals aged 18 and above from Tuesday to Thursday. Despite the increase, the president's negative assessment remained stable at 58 percent, with his approach to the economy and livelihood issues being the primary reasons for disapproval.

The ruling People Power Party (PPP) and the main opposition Democratic Party are nearly tied in approval ratings, standing at 34 percent and 33 percent, respectively. Notably, 27 percent of respondents indicated no support for any political party. The poll carries a 95 percent credibility rate with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
