Presidential Office Evaluating Opposition Leader Lee Jae-myung’s Proposal for Tripartite Talks

SEOUL - The presidential office is closely monitoring the situation before making a decision on Democratic Party (DP) leader Lee Jae-myung's proposal for talks among him, President Yoon Suk Yeol, and the ruling party leader, according to a senior official.

According to a news release by Yonhap News Agency, the senior presidential secretary for political affairs, Lee Jae-myung made the suggestion for talks on Monday upon returning to his party duties. This was apparently in response to an earlier suggestion for one-on-one talks by Rep. Kim Gi-hyeon, leader of the ruling People Power Party (PPP). The senior secretary disclosed this information after a meeting with Ihn Yohan, the newly appointed innovation chief for the PPP, at the National Assembly.
