Samsung Electronics Champions Busan’s 2030 World Expo Bid in Paris

Seoul – Samsung Electronics Co. has intensified efforts in Paris to support Busan's bid to host the 2030 World Expo. On Sunday, company officials revealed that Samsung has been showcasing messages endorsing the southeastern port city's candidacy on billboards across various locations in France's capital. These displays are strategically placed in areas with high visibility, including Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, major shopping districts, and popular tourist spots.

According to Yonhap News Agency, in addition to these billboard messages, Samsung has also mounted a large advertisement for its newest foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which simultaneously promotes Busan's expo bid. This advertisement is prominently featured on the facade of the Opera Garnier in Paris. A photo provided by Samsung Electronics on November 26, 2023, showcases the large-scale advertisement at this iconic location.

The decision regarding the host of the 2030 World Expo is scheduled to be made during a general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris on Tuesday. Busan is contending with Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome, Italy, for the hosting rights. In a broader promotional campaign, Samsung has also broadcasted videos in support of the Busan expo on massive LED boards at prominent locations in major European cities, including London's Piccadilly Circus and Madrid's Callao Square.
