Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held talks yesterday with Russian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Arkady Vladimirovich Dvorkovich, on the sidelines of the 1st Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Leader's Meeting held in Sanya city, Hainan province of China.
According to the National Television of Cambodia (TVK)'s special report, during the meeting, both sides highly valued the outcomes of discussions between the two countries' working groups over the debts Cambodia owed to Russia during the 1980s. Anyway, Samdech Techo Hun Sen wished to solve the issue as soon as possible.
Thanks to the increasing number of Russian tourists to Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen suggested to establish a direct flight between both countries.
The meeting also touched on the Cambodian premier's official visit to Russia in May 2016, Cambodia's request to be a member of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Eurasian Union, and the strengthening of Cambodia-Russia and ASEAN-Russia cooperation.
