SEOUL, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel will visit South Korea next week for talks with Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon about enhancing relations and economic cooperation between the two countries, Lee's office said.
Bettel is scheduled to arrive on Sunday for a four-day visit that will make him Luxembourg's first prime minister to visit South Korea in 18 years.
On Monday, Lee is scheduled to hold talks with him where the two leaders are expected to assess relations between the two countries and discuss ways to increase economic and international cooperation and bolster people-to-people exchanges.
Lee will also hold a joint news conference and host a banquet for Bettel later in the day.
Luxembourg is a traditional friend of South Korea and dispatched troops during the Korean War.
Since forging diplomatic relations in 1962, the two countries have been cooperating closely in political, economic and other areas.
