SEOUL-- The head of Russia's state-run diplomatic think tank told a forum in Seoul on Thursday that negotiation is the only feasible solution to the problem of North Korea's nuclear program.
Bazhanov Evgeny Petrovich, director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said Russia will not tolerate North Korea's possession of nuclear weapons.
He said North Korea would want to own nuclear weapons all the more if the U.S. threatens to "destroy" it, referring to U.S. President Donald Trump's speech at the United Nations in September.
The semi-governmental forum opened for a two-day run to discuss ways to build a platform for peace and security cooperation in Northeast Asia. It brings together about 200 government officials and private experts.
