SEOUL, President Moon Jae-in promoted a senior labor ministry official to vice minister Monday, the presidential spokesman said.
Lim Seo-jeong, a technocrat with decades of experiences of dealing with labor and employment issues, was named to replace Lee Sung-ki as vice labor ministry, presidential spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said.
Kim is known for his planning capabilities and the reasonable way he's handling issues, and is expected to help smoothly resolve pending issues so as to contribute to improving the quality of people's lives, the spokesman said.
A graduate of Seoul National University, the new vice minister passed the high-level civil service exam in 1988 and has served in various positions at the labor ministry, including chief of the Seoul regional employment and labor administration.
