SEOUL-- Aekyung Industry Co., a major South Korean household and personal care products maker, said Tuesday it has established an affiliate in China as it attempts to tap deeper into the world's No. 2 economy.

Aekyung said it set up the new company, wholly owned by the South Korean firm, four years after it first entered the neighboring market with a liaison office in Guangzhou in 2013.

The company said its sales in China have been rapidly expanding, having posted 42 percent growth in 2015 and 112 percent expansion in 2016.
